TGW Logistics has developed an innovative system that will revolutionise order processing. LivePick consists of a smart storage system with robots to store and retrieve totes of picking stock. Mobile robots then transport the order boxes to ergonomic order picking stations. Central advantage: the scale of LivePick can be adapted very quickly in small steps to changing basic conditions and any order profile.

The importance of adaptability is increasing, not least in intralogistics. Companies are forced to offer their customers high service levels and short delivery times. At the same time, consumer behaviour is becoming increasingly unpredictable and it is hardly possible to reliably anticipate rapid changes in the share of online orders and retail orders. This is a huge challenge that has already given those responsible for supply chains many a sleepless night. LivePick is the smart answer to this new landscape and encourages an attitude of "stop picking, start fulfilling orders".

Scalable order processing

LivePick has a highly modular structure and consists of a source and target area, which are independently divided into separate modules. In the source area, robots store and retrieve totes in an innovative storage system. Mobile robots then transport the order boxes to ergonomic 1:1 picking workstations. This combination enables highly flexible order processing in daily operations. With 50 years of experience as a systems integrator, TGW Logistics has full insight into both the source and target sides to ensure that LivePick is tailored to specific customer orders, regardless of the order profile today or in the future.

In 6 to 12 months live

Main advantage: easy scalability. All modules can be effortlessly expanded and adapted to individual customer needs or company development. This expansion can be done in a short time and without disrupting the operation of the system. Expanding the racking in the source area can increase storage capacity, while additional robots can improve performance. Has the number of orders to be processed skyrocketed? There is a smart, quick answer: more mobile robots.

Realisation spans only six to 12 months from contract signing to commissioning. The plug-and-play approach not only ensures a short realisation period, but also minimises the effort and cost of commissioning.

For different channels and order profiles

"LivePick sets a new standard when it comes to flexibility. The system is ideally suited for different distribution channels and order sizes, whether e-commerce or retail," says Christoph Wolkerstorfer, chief technology officer at TGW Logistics. "With LivePick, companies can react quickly to changes in order behaviour or business development."
