Fashion group Bestseller is investing 265 million euros in a new distribution centre in Lelystad. The Danish parent company of Vero Moda and Jack & Jones sees the yet-to-be-built location as an important hub for supplying other European markets.
Never before has Bestseller invested such an amount in a logistics location. By signing the purchase agreement yesterday, the group confirmed earlier speculation about the new distribution centre. Bestseller wants the DC to increase the capacity and flexibility of its supply chain and be closer to its key customers and largest retail markets.
On choosing Lelystad, Bestseller says: "Sixty kilometres from Amsterdam with access to the port, road and rail, the municipality is ideally located to become a high-tech, sustainable logistics hub for supplying European markets."
The fashion group says it wants to start construction as soon as possible. Only in 2026 does Bestseller expect to put the DC into operation. Around 500 employees will then start working there in a variety of positions, from logistics staff to technical specialists, management and support positions.
