Logistics service provider Fiege has renewed its cooperation with Roche Diagnostics Netherlands. Roche, provider of diagnostic healthcare solutions, will use Fiege Healthcare's fully enclosed conditioned GDP distribution network.
Fiege has been active in the Healthcare branch for many years. The logistics provider has a fleet of vehicles that supplies hospitals with medical products on a daily basis. In addition, Fiege has some 70,000 square metres of specialised warehouse space for medical products in the Benelux, Germany Poland and Switzerland. Fiege's recently renovated Healthcare Cross Dok centre in Zaandam will play an important role in the renewed cooperation, which covers a period of several years.
Fiege also previously operated as a logistics service provider for Roche. Nevertheless, Roche decided to launch an international tender for the 'Final Mile Delivery'. "Despite being very satisfied with FIEGE's service, we still took up the challenge to compare their service with that of the competition. As many as 18 carriers applied. After an intensive selection process, three logistics service providers remained, including FIEGE, which were invited to a "bidder conference" at Roche in Mannheim. In December, we made the final choice: we will stay with Fiege," says Suzanne Tolsma, Procurement Manager at Roche.
