Foodora grew by nearly 1,000 per cent in 2016

German meal delivery service foodora recorded
recorded a sales increase of no less than 982
per cent.

The number of orders increased by 753 per cent and
the number of connected restaurants increased by 400 per cent. The meal delivery service
by bike expanded to six new cities in 2016: Utrecht, The Hague,
Rotterdam, Leiden, Haarlem and Eindhoven. As a result, the number of orders increased
sharply. But foodora also saw its sales grow at existing locations. In Amsterdam
three times as many orders were placed, despite the arrival of competitor UberEats.

Last 1 January was a record day for
foodora. The originally German company processed four times more orders
than a year ago. To cope with the rush, foodora not only deployed all
its delivery staff, but also office staff and management to deliver the
deliver the orders. "As a result, we were able to process all orders
with an average delivery time of 34.3 minutes. I am extremely proud of that",
said Vincent Hosman, country manager foodora Netherlands.
