Four warehouses are still competing for the Safest Warehouse Prize. A difficult task awaits the jury of the election, as the four nominees operate in different sectors with varying logistics requirements.
Vistaprint in Venlo, Jumbo Supermarkets in Elst, Bausch Health Amsterdam in Schiphol-Rijk and Pon Logistics in Leusden are the latest nominees. Of all the warehouses that applied for the election this spring, these four warehouses are most entitled to be nominated for the final on Thursday 15 November 2018, according to the jury.
More than 25 employees
The four nominated warehouses all belong to the category of large warehouses with more than 25 employees. At the end of September, they will be visited by the jury led by Prof René De Koster.
People, process and technology
The jury examines whether the participating warehouses comply with all legal obligations, but also pays attention to the actual safety on the shop floor, the technical facilities, the working climate and the management's safety policy. According to the jury, the three pillars of people, process and technology should be in balance with each other.
Abbott Logistics in Breda
Last year, gold in the large warehouse category went to Abbott Logistics in Breda. This year, the final will take place on 15 November 2018, during the Day of the Warehouse.
