The code for hygienic and food-safe working in food transport, storage and distribution is being amended. The new code would enable companies to meet legal requirements for hygienic and food-safe working.
Part of the hygiene code are general and specific hygiene regulations that are in line with the FSSC 22000 Storage & Distribution basic conditions programme. The FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) collaborated with standards organisation NEN in revising the code. This created an internationally recognised normal. The FSSC 22000 is a standard based on ISO 22000. "This standard, approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), offers an opportunity to achieve international harmonisation," EVO writes on its website.
