Registration for IFOY Awards starts

Manufacturers of warehouse trucks and intralogistics solutions and software can compete for the IFOY (International Forklift Of the Year) Award 2017 from today.

Companies can compete in eight different categories, with each category looking at the degree of innovation, as well as the practicality of the machine or solution. The categories are as follows:
- Counterbalanced forklifts up to and including 3.5 tonnes;
- Counterbalanced forklift trucks from 3.51 tonnes;
- Special vehicles
- Warehouse trucks 'high lifters
- Low lifters' warehouse trucks
- Automated guided vehicle (AGV) and shuttle systems
- Intralogistics solutions and systems successfully realised at a customer's site.
- Special of the Year': for all innovative systems that lead to a demonstrable improvement for the end-user in terms of safety, ergonomics, energy consumption, performance, maintenance and operational efficiency.

Companies can apply until 18 November. 25 international judges will assess the submitted nominations. In addition, a trade journalist will test all nominated entries for performance and ease of operation prior to the judging process. The scientific Fraunhofer Institute and the Helmut Schmidt University of Hamburg will judge the entries on the degree of innovation. The winners will be announced at the Transport Logistik trade fair in Munich in May 2017.
