"Logistics service providers and shippers have their hands full with the impact of the corona virus. The Logistic Manager of the Year Election is taking a pass."
The board of the Logistics Manager of the Year Foundation has decided not to go ahead with the event scheduled for 26 March next. The Logistic Manager of the Year and Young Logistics Talent Election will be moved to Thursday 24 September 2020.
"It is regrettable that we have had to make this decision. We see several developments due to the impact of the coronavirus within the industry that require attention from logistics managers. The Election Logistic Manager of the Year does not fit in with that right now, and besides, the welfare of people is always the first priority ", said chairman of the foundation board Boris van de Laak.
"Also in recent days, we received more and more signals that companies are tightening measures and not allowing employees and relations to travel to events to avoid risks and prevent a possible corona contamination. Moving Logistic Manager of the Year is a sensible option after consultation with stakeholders."
New final day
The three finalists for Logistics Manager of the Year and the three finalists for Young Logistics Talent will no doubt understand the situation and find out on 24 September which of them will win the titles.
The theme of the event, Skilled for the Future, will obviously remain unchanged. The programme will also be the same. Partners DHL, Olympia, Manpower, evofenedex, vLm, JLN, Right Management, KennisDC Logistiek, LogistiekProfs, WarehouseTotaal and Jaarbeurs will together give the election the stage it deserves.
Visitors re-registration
Attendees who have already registered for 26 March will be notified shortly and can thus reconfirm their participation in the event.
