What will change as of 1 January 2017 for entrepreneurs
in logistics? What about environmental zones, for example, and what
tax breaks can entrepreneurs benefit from? Shippers' organisation EVO set out the changes
a row.

Clean driving will be rewarded

Electric driving will be encouraged by the government until 2020. The addition
for private use of an electric car is 4 per cent. For the car
tax and passenger car and motorbike tax.
have to be paid. On the contrary, more tax has to be paid on old diesel cars.
paid. The motor vehicle tax for old diesel cars without a factory particulate filter
will become 15 per cent more expensive in 2019.

Low income benefit

As of this year, it will become more attractive for employers to hire employees with a
low income employees and keep them, writes EVO. From 1 January
2017, the so-called low-income benefit (liv) will apply. To benefit
of the 'liv', employers must employ employees
employ workers who earn between 100 per cent and 120 per cent of the legal
minimum wage. This benefit can amount to €2,000 per employee
per year. The amount depends on the employee's average hourly wage.

No difference between permanent employment and flex contract in case of illness

From next year, in case of illness and occupational disability, it will no longer matter
whether an employee is in permanent employment or has a fixed-term contract.
In fact, employers will then be responsible for all employees in case of sickness.
This is due to the merger of the WGA fixed and WGA flex. According to
EVO, companies will therefore have to think about smart risk hedging.

No exceptions to minimum wage
From 1 January, there will be stricter monitoring of the payment of the
new minimum wage. Employers from the age of 23 will be obliged to pay an employee
EUR 1551.60 a month. There are no exceptions to this. For instance
employers may not deduct meal expenses either. Only amounts that are
required or permitted by law may be deducted.

Driving test charged

When the Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen is notified by the
police investigate a driver's driving record, the
costs are recovered from the driver himself. If a driver is suspected to be
medically unfit or insufficient driving ability, an investigation will cost
costs a minimum of 384 euros.

Change ADR convention
In 2017, there will be
new rules for transporting dangerous goods by road. More
focus on the transport of new energy sources such as lithium-ion
batteries and hydrogen fuel cells. Empty, uncleaned or non-degassed
freight transport units should be marked and labelled by the consignor.
be labelled. The new rules can be found in the updated version of the
ADR Convention.

VAT refund easier
It will become easier in 2017
easier to get a VAT refund when an invoice is not paid or only
partially paid by the customer. The new VAT scheme means that
if an invoice has not been paid one year after it becomes due, the
claim is irrecoverable. No VAT therefore needs to be paid on this amount
paid. The entrepreneur can deduct the refund himself from the
tax return. If the customer still pays part or all of the invoice later, the
the entrepreneur should include the VAT on the next return.

Old delivery vans not welcome in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is going to
ban polluting vans from the city. From 1 January 2017, vans
vans built before 2000 will no longer be allowed to drive within Amsterdam's ring road. Some
business parks will still be accessible. Old vehicles will not receive a new parking permit from 1 April
2017, moreover, no new parking permits will be issued.
