Shoe retailer Omoda has been elected Logistic Webshop of the Year. The retailer impressed the jury with stretching the cut-off time, offering pick-up points in shops and the possibility to choose a delivery time.
Omoda is also starting same-day deliveries in Rotterdam, using bicycle couriers. The retailer will soon introduce a 3D app, allowing consumers to measure their shoe size and advise Omoda on the right shoe size. This should lead to a lower return rate. "What particularly stood out during our jury visit was that omnichannel thinking is really in their DNA at Omoda," said jury chairman Egbert Guis. "One stock for both the shops and the online shop. In addition, Omoda cleverly analyses their data, which allows them to optimise the logistics process properly, increasing the positive customer experience. And the 3D app, which Omoda is currently rolling out is a great example of smart innovation, which will ultimately help reduce the return flow."
Public award for MyMicro
Omoda left MyMicro, an electronic appliance parts shop, and Nespresso behind. These online retailers were also praised for the service they offer consumers, so it was a close call between the winner and the other finalists. The five-member jury was made up of logistics consultant Egbert Guis, Henk Delfos (GfK), Paul Haagh (Groenewout) and Emile van Rijn (EVO). A public prize was also awarded during the election evening. This went to MyMicro.
