Also during the 103rd edition of the Tour de France, XPO Logistics will provide the transport of all equipment and goods for the 21 stages. The company has been appointed official logistics partner by tour organiser Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO).

It is the 36th time XPO Logistics is providing the transportation of goods during the Tour de France. Companies that want to become partners of the Tour de France have to submit an annual proposal that falls within the requirements in terms of logistics and safety. This time too, the choice fell on XPO Logistics. "During the three race weeks, XPO Logistics will provide the transport, including loading and unloading, of the materials needed at the start and finish locations and at the intermediate checkpoints for all stages," the company says. XPO Logistics' trucks will also take care of the materials for the advertising caravan and the Tour de France shop.

Team performance

"Our teams are proud to once again make a significant contribution to the success of the Tour de France," explains Adil Houem, head of event transport and logistics at XPO Logistics. "We have fully tailored our services to the unique requirements of this special event and we are working closely with organiser ASO to ensure everything runs smoothly and flawlessly. The Tour de France is a legendary cycling race and it is a privilege for us to be part of it for the 36th time as an official logistics partner." A total of 53 drivers and 44 jumbo trucks, supported by a large group of employees behind the scenes, will have to get the job done.

Experience
The company works more often during major events. XPO Logistics handled the logistics process during, among others, the Arctic Race in Norway, the Paris Marathon, the Freeride World Tour, the French Football Cup (Coupe de France) and the nine-day Tour de France à la Voile sailing race.

The Tour de France will continue until July 24.
