Today, the first of 476 solar panels are attached to the facade of CB's newest warehouse in Culemborg. Ultimately, the warehouse should have one of the largest solar facades in the Netherlands.

Earlier, the logistics provider installed 1220 solar panels on the roof of the same warehouse. Good for around 3,400 square metres of panels.

222 tonnes CO2 reduction

The solar panels collectively generate 468,000 kWh per year, which is roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of 134 households per year. The installation avoids 222 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, according to CB.

Bin warehouse

The solar panels are attached to CB's bins warehouse. In April, the new warehouse was opened by King Willem Alexander. A fully automated warehouse where goods are stocked by shuttles and picked from some 50,000 different totes. With this, CB is responding to the growth in the number of orders and the smaller size per order.
