De Winter Logistics is once again on the acquisition trail. The logistics service provider buys even-knee De Lordd Transport from Moerkapelle.
De Winter Logistics operates as a logistics service provider for the floriculture sector. The service package of competitor De Lordd Transport matches this, as well as the regions in which both companies operate (Bleiswijk and Boskoop). The companies have been working together for some time. From 1 November, all activities of De Lordd Transport will continue under the flag of De Winter Logistics.
Joining forces
By joining forces, the companies believe they can serve customers better. "We work in a dynamic market of short lead times and increasingly direct trade. This requires a specific way of working, in which visibility in the region, speed and efficiency are crucial," says Eric de Winter of De Winter Logistics.
"Volume is of great importance these days," says Bert van Reeuwijk, current owner of De Lordd Transport. "Through the takeover, De Winter Logistics expands its capabilities in this region, improving services for our customers. A win-win situation."
Takeovers
De Winter Logistics has been expanding its market share through acquisitions for some time. In July, it acquired De Bloementaxi, a company that transports small quantities in the floriculture industry on demand. A year ago, it also bought industry peer R. Gorissen Transport.
