Uncertainty surrounding the UK's imminent departure from the European Union is already running into papers. Companies in the Netherlands do not know whether they can go into business with British partners for an extended period of time, so deals often founder or are postponed.
So writes business association evofenedex. The interest association is opening a hotline where companies can voice their concerns about the Brexit. Evofenedex reportedly received complaints from concerned members in recent weeks. By starting a hotline, the association wants to identify the consequences of the uncertainty. In addition, members can indicate their wishes for a new trade agreement.
In 2015, companies in the Netherlands exported €38 billion worth of goods to the UK. This makes the UK the Netherlands' third largest trading partner. This was offset by imports of 21 billion euros.
