The Consumer & Market Authority (ACM) has given the green light for the takeover of Bruna by Audax Group. The amalgamation of teams, processes and systems will be completed in the second quarter of this year. Bruna will continue to operate in the Dutch market under its own name.

Audax Group is a business platform for logistics retail. The company focuses on creating, marketing, distributing and selling products such as magazines and books. Audax labels include AKO, The Read Shop, Marskramer, and now Bruna. Merging the two organisations creates a company with sales of EUR 350 million, 1,700 employees and a retail network of 1,300 points of sale.

Both parties expect to operate more efficiently in the market through economies of scale, greater purchasing power and combined know-how. Hubert de Leeuw, chairman of Audax Group's Executive Board, said: "This joining of forces is the next step in Audax's development, as a family business with its roots strong in magazines and books we are ready for a new future." The integration of the companies is expected to be completed in June.
