Jungheinrich has launched a smart energy storage system for the warehouse. This modular energy storage system can supply lithium-ion forklifts with electricity in a short time. The company is also launching a battery charger for outdoor use.

Energy storage offers companies interesting opportunities, Jungheinrich claims. Examples include backup in the form of emergency power, extra power when fast-charging electric vehicles such as utility and delivery vehicles or buying back energy to the market.

Indoor energy storage system

Jungheinrich's modular system consists of cells that can be monitored online. The storage capacity ranges from 41 to 280 kWh and is expandable. The system prevents peak loads on the network and is easy to integrate into existing warehouses without major modifications to the existing energy network.

Outdoor battery charger

Jungheinrich has further developed a compact charging station and a portable energy storage system for outdoor use. This system is specifically for use with the lithium-ion forklift EFG P30i. The system consists of a battery, an inverter, air conditioning and an energy management system. The plug-and-play system, combined with the charger, allows the forklift truck to be charged anywhere.
