Jungheinrich introduces a stacker with integrated lithium-ion battery. For the ERC 216zi, the manufacturer says it has used the advantages of lithium-ion technology to develop 'a revolutionary truck'.

The integrated battery makes battery changes a thing of the past, Jungheinrich writes in a statement. The lithium-ion battery can be recharged during coffee breaks or at the point of use. In addition to the new technical features, the ERC 216zi has also been given an updated look. "Sometimes a totally different approach helps to come up with new ideas," explains Jungheinrich board member Marketing & Sales Christian Erlach, "That's exactly what we did with the ERC 216zi."

The ERC 216zi is seventeen centimetres shorter than a comparable platform stacker, making the stacker manoeuvrable and easy to manoeuvre. The lithium-ion battery is centrally positioned, which should give the operator more freedom of movement on the stacking platform.

Jungheinrich aims to ensure operator safety with fixed side and rear walls on the stacking platform. For further protection, the ERC 216zi has a spacious panoramic roof with a see-through window. The load management system operationCONTROL is integrated into the truck. This system continuously monitors lift height and load. As soon as a load is lifted too high, a signal sounds, the display shows a warning and the smartPILOT vibrates. The system remembers set load heights, which Jungheinrich says increases safety and efficiency.
