In Poland, Katoen Natie is taking over all warehousing and value added logistics activities from Nijhof-Wassink. With this, Katoen Natie wants to further strengthen its position in the chemical industry.
The management of Katoen Natie considered Poland a blind spot in its network, the company states in a press release. "By filling this blind spot, Poland will from now on be an additional asset to serve petrochemical customers even more," Katoen Natie said.
The agreement includes a 25.5-hectare site, 42 silos, 15,000 square metres of outdoor storage space and 5 warehousing warehouses with a total covered area of 40,000 square metres. The logistics centre's ongoing contracts and 60 employees will also be taken over by Katoen Natie. The Belgian company plans to immediately expand the logistics facilities by 16,000 square metres and 42 additional silos.
The takeover only applies to the logistics centre in Kutno, Poland. All transport activities of Nijhof-Wassink and the five Volvo and Renault Trucks dealerships in Poland will remain active under the Nijhof-Wassink Group.
