The Sharehouse Living Lab has officially been launched. In this labratorium in Rotterdam, 24 partners from science, business, education and government are doing research on warehouse innovations such as AGVs and exoskeletons.
The Living Lab is currently being set up in Rotterdam. Here, research will be conducted on various technologies for warehousing, including AGVs, exoskeletons, VR/AR wearables and forklift simulators.
From the science sector, parties such as TNO, Erasmus University Rotterdam and TU/Eindhoven have joined the Living Lab. Also involved are the Logistica Foundation, KennisDC Logistiek, the municipality of Rotterdam, Vanderlande, Dexion, Prologis and Sendus Logistiek, among others.
Impact of technology on people and labour
The Sharehouse Living Lab will look specifically at the relationship between technology and people, for example by researching ethical and safety aspects. The development of social-innovative knowledge should support companies in technological transitions. It also examines how logistics education and the labour market can be better aligned. The lab is used by STC MBO College for innovative forms of education and as a test location for companies in the region.
The aim is to start a Living Lab in other regions as well. Sharehouse says it is looking for suppliers, companies and research institutions committed to innovation.
