Logistics professionals have no complaints about their
salaries and current careers. Nevertheless, over thirty per cent are open to
offers from other employers. This is according to a survey by Berenschot
commissioned by VLM and conducted amongst 639 logistics professionals.
Salary
Logistics managers are satisfied with their current
terms of employment. They earn between 60,000 and 70,000 euros a year.
It is striking that the group aged between 35 and 40 earns, on average, more than their older
colleagues.

Logistics professionals place great value on their salary. However,
challenge, working atmosphere and opportunities for development are key factors for the
respondents. If these aspects are lacking, logistics
manager would prefer to look for other job opportunities. 13 per cent of participants would
actively look for another job.
Management level
The survey also highlights areas for improvement. For example,
logistics staff are dissatisfied with the calibre of their
managers. These managers
indicate that they, too, would like to work on this. In particular, they are thinking
on improving their management skills.
