Manhattan Associates has announced the arrival of a fully cloud-native Warehouse Management System (WMS) at its annual customer conference Momentum Connect. This application architecture allows companies to scale up automatically and almost limitlessly when demand fluctuates.

The Manhattan Active WM is a cloud-native WMS that does not need to be upgraded and is fully extensible in terms of data, services and UI. The system is developed based on gamification theory and behavioural science.

User interface

The solution features a new user interface. For example, the Manhattan WM Active Unified Control screens are intended for management team members, allowing them to visualise, diagnose and take action within the supply chain. For DC employees, the mobile application offers an app-based experience.

Unified distribution application

According to Manhattan Associates, all functions, including labour management and slotting optimisation, have been streamlined and redesigned to create a unified distribution application. The company has implemented machine learning in the system to orchestrate DC and staff automation to optimise work in distribution centres. The built-in Warehouse Execution System (WES) also coordinates work between combinations of automation, robotics and staff, and the Manhattan Automation Network provides certified integration with industry-standard DC robotics providers.
