Quality of entries has improved
The competition is co-organised annually by EVO and
the Transport and Logistics Sector Institute to highlight the importance
of a healthy and safe working environment. According to jury chairman René de Koster,
, this effort has borne fruit over the past 10 years. The
quality of the entries has reportedly improved significantly. “The standard
that we used to see only among the winners a few years ago is now evident among several
entrants,” said De Koster. “The participating warehouses are not
not only safe, but also warehouses with good leaders, motivated staff and
excellent logistical performance.”

Processes and staff wellbeing play a major role
This month, the judging panel will visit the warehouses of the
four nominees. They will be assessing safety and ergonomics on the
workplace and how processes are organised to prevent unsafe and
unhealthy situations. Attention will also be paid to the
well-being of staff. The
final winner will be announced on 7 October during the Day of the
Warehouse Day at EVO in Zoetermeer.
