Sports brand Puma has inaugurated its European logistics centre in Geiselwind, Germany. The 63,00-square-metre omnichannel DC will be able to supply up to 74 million SKUs annually to retailers, wholesalers and online customers.

Puma decided to bundle its European logistics in one central location, choosing the Bavarian municipality of Geiselwind. Last week, the premises were inaugurated.

Ten minutes per order

In total, the brand invested 200 million euros in the CO2-neutral logistics hub, which Puma says makes it one of the most advanced fulfilment centres in the fashion industry. Processing an order takes just ten minutes on average. As a result, around 74 million SKUs can be processed at the site every year.

Automation by TGW

TGW set up the DC, including with the FlashPick system, specially designed for omnichannel processes. The site has more than 700,000 storage spaces for shoes, apparel and accessories. Five hundred shuttle robots automatically pick boxes from these storage areas, after which they are taken to the picking and packing locations. The building has 21 kilometres of conveyor systems.
