TGW is building an automated intralogistics system for the new central distribution centre of automotive specialist Fource Logistics. The system is due to go live in autumn 2021.
With new premises in Berkel en Rodenrijs, Fource is bundling its logistics activities in one location. The first pile of the 50,000-square-metre building was struck earlier this year, with operations in Amsterdam, Hoevelaken, Schiedam and Venlo moving to Oudeland industrial estate by 2021.
Fource has asked TGW to build the intralogistics system. "An important order and a fantastic spare parts and components reference for TGW," stresses Jan-Willem Klinkenberg, Sales Project Manager Benelux. At the heart of the automated solution, with ten aisles and more than 180,000 storage locations, is the so-called FlashPick. Some two hundred energy-efficient Stingray shuttles handle the storage and retrieval of goods. The shuttle system, together with twelve receiving workstations and sixteen PickCenterOne workstations, form the heart of the system.
Machines for automatically straightening and closing boxes, bin stackers and lifts are also part of the concept and brief, as is Warehouse Management.
