Utrecht, 12 November 2024 - ICT&Logistics and Logistica Next, organised by Royal Jaarbeurs, once again proved their worth as leading trade shows for the logistics sector last week. The trade shows brought together the latest innovations and provided a platform for professionals to network and move the market forward. A highlight was the presentation of the prestigious Logistica Award to Essensium for the most ground-breaking innovation in the sector. Logistics chain owners also signed a declaration of intent for a standard core set for primary data. The largest logistics trade fairs in the Benelux together attracted 10,500 visitors, 10 per cent more than the previous edition. In 2025, the ICT&Logistics and Logistica Next trade fairs will take place from 4 to 6 November.
Half of exhibitors have already booked a stand for the next edition
Corien den Ouden, trade fair manager: “Exhibitors really pulled out all the stops this year with their products and innovations; the atmosphere was as lively as ever, and the feedback from both exhibitors and visitors was exceptionally positive. Half of the exhibitors have already booked a stand for next year.” Exhibitor Silvia Christensen-Vreuls, business development manager at KNAPP Benelux: “We love coming to Logistica Next to connect with potential customers in person and to meet our existing clients face-to-face. The personal contact helps us to have a conversation in a relaxed setting and to showcase our products. Following this successful event, we’ve already booked our stand for the next edition.”
Logistics sector takes a significant step towards an efficient future at the trade fairs
The Logistica Award, presented on the exhibition floor this year, underlines the importance of the trade fair as a showcase for technological progress and innovation. Essensium won the Logistica Award with its unique SafeTrack system, a brand-independent safety system for warehouse trucks. Essensium offers a unique solution that uses artificial intelligence to enhance the safety of all warehouse trucks. Corien den Ouden: “In addition to the award ceremony, we are also taking a very important step towards an efficient future for the logistics sector on the exhibition floor, with the signing of the memorandum of understanding by logistics chain operators. Establishing a primary dataset and agreeing on how that data can be shared offers many benefits for both the business community and the government, as well as other stakeholders in transport and logistics. This also demonstrates that the trade fairs play an important role in supply chain collaboration. The entire sector is represented at the trade fairs.”
Logistics trade fairs inextricably linked
With an eye to the future, Jaarbeurs has decided to integrate ICT&Logistiek and Logistica Next. Corien den Ouden: “Nowadays, ICT is inextricably linked to intralogistics processes within warehouses. That is why we have chosen to continue organising both trade fairs simultaneously in the future.” Jaarbeurs aims, together with exhibitors, to optimise knowledge-sharing and to provide a platform where professionals can meet, learn and collaborate on the future of logistics. Den Ouden: “We are striving for a carbon-neutral society by 2050. The energy transition requires far-reaching changes in transport and logistics. Businesses must opt for sustainable energy and invest in it. At the ICT&Logistiek and Logistica Next trade fairs, exhibitors present innovative solutions to accelerate the energy transition in the logistics sector. Visitors can find effective solutions to their sustainability challenges here.”
A number of exhibitors at Logistica Next already attend ICT&Logistics every year, highlighting the synergy between the two events. Previously, the target audience at ICT&Logistics was different from that at Logistica Next, says Boltrics marketer Mike Oerlemans. "But that has converged more in recent years, also with regard to robotisation and AI trends. And because of that, we do see this edition of ICT&Logistics, which is together with Logistica, as a success." Exhibitor Meral Arslan, sales manager of FKK Wheels, is also positive about the merger of the two trade shows: "Connecting the future of logistics is what both trade shows have in common. We are excited about the developments around the fair and that is why we look forward to seeing you back next year."
The next edition of ICT&Logistics and Logistica Next will take place on 4 to 6 November 2025 at Royal Jaarbeurs.
