The fees for tachograph cards (driver cards, company cards and workshop cards) will not be increased, but rather reduced by one euro. This was announced by State Secretary Mansfeld of Infastructure and Environment. The cards issued by Kiwa Register will then cost 99 euros excluding VAT.
Not cost-covering
There has been much debate about the rates for tachograph cards. The price was said to be 125 per cent of the total costs incurred for the tachograph cards. Industry organisations EVO and TLN have long been lobbying the Ministry for a cost-covering rate. The plan to increase the fee to 102 euros was therefore scrapped. The organisations are now hoping for a further reduction in the fee, so that it does cover costs.
