What role do logistics service providers have in the energy transition of road transport?
Volvo Trucks is playing a leading role in the energy transition. Besides trucks that can run on biodiesel, HVO or (Bio-)LNG, the manufacturer started series production of electric trucks in 2019. Meanwhile, the entire truck range is available with an electric drive system and Volvo Trucks has already gained more than 100 million electric kilometres of experience in a wide variety of deployments worldwide. The trucks are there, but where to go from here? A major challenge for scaling up lies in the charging infrastructure - including for the possible arrival of hydrogen trucks. It is more important than ever to work together. How can logistics service providers jointly shape the energy transition and who has what role in this? And what are the routes to a zero-emission future?
Want to know which steps you can take in energy transition? Then attend the knowledge session by Jan Schouten, Manager Energy Transition at Volvo Trucks Netherlands, on Tuesday 5 November between 10:45 and 11:15 in the Logistics Arena at ICT&Logistics and Logistica Next 2024.
