The House of Representatives is asking for maximum commitment from the government to actually reduce the regulatory burden in the logistics sector. This is evident from the questions MPs sent in to the cabinet on Friday. Questions were also asked about the European regulatory burden in logistics. In particular, shippers' concerns about the impossibility of cross-border transport with LPVs worried the Lower House.
They also called for the involvement of unions. For instance, the SP believes that the project is focused on shippers' interests, but the party also asks for room for representatives of the unions if necessary.
Logistics regulatory burden down
At the end of January, Minister Schultz van Haegen of Infrastructure and the Environment announced that the regulatory burden in logistics would be significantly reduced. According to the minister, the complexity of sector-specific regulations has increased significantly. In some cases, they would no longer be understandable to entrepreneurs and therefore not compliant.
