Logistics real estate company Warehouse de Pauw (WDP) has struck building ground in Romania. The real estate player is currently developing 115,000 square metres of warehouse space in the country. These are pre-let properties that will be delivered before the end of 2017.

WDP is leasing a 4,700-square-metre distribution centre to logistics service provider Arcese. Arcese has developed a five-year lease for this. In addition, Carrefour is moving into a distribution centre of around 11,000 square metres with an extension of 16,000 square metres. The lease of this distribution centre runs for ten years.

In addition, the existing tenant, automotive expert Röchling, of a DC in the town of Oarja wants to double its current area of warehouse space. WDP will therefore deliver 7,700 square metres of distribution space in the fourth quarter. The tenant will also sign a 10-year contract for this.

Logistics service provider Kuehne + Nagel is moving into a newly developed distribution centre of around 5,000 square metres in Romania, with a five-year lease. This building will be developed in Timisoara, in western Romania. WDP is focusing on this region due to the important Pan-European Corridor IV. According to WDP, these corridors are crucial for efficient logistics between Western and Central Europe. Completion of this project is scheduled during the third quarter of 2017.
