DSV's Air & Sea division has moved to a new logistics centre at the Kempisch Bedrijvenpark in Hapert, a strategic logistics hotspot in the Brainport region with direct access to the A67 motorway. The move merges the two existing sites in Eindhoven totalling 15,000 square metres into one modern location of 25,600 square metres.
In the new premises, DSV carries out logistics activities specifically aimed at customers from the high-tech and automotive sectors, with a strong focus on air freight. The warehouse acts as a consolidation centre for air freight via nearby regional airports.
Juliën de Jong, managing director of DSV's Air & Sea division, is looking forward to the future: "This new location allows us to serve our customers in the high-tech and automotive sector even better. The combination of strategic location and modern facilities aligns with our long-term vision: to grow with our customers, in a future-proof and efficient logistics environment."
Euregio
The location serves the economically fast-growing Euregio, which covers western Germany, northern Belgium and southern Netherlands. Built to the latest sustainable standards, the building meets TAPA-A security standards and features two state-of-the-art roller conveyors for handling aircraft plates and containers.
Solar panels have also been installed, with a planned expansion, and two fully electric trucks will be used for distribution, among other things. Around 130 employees will be employed.
Advanced roller conveyors
Gijs Peeters, air freight director stresses, "Our facilities are designed with the customer in mind. The advanced roller conveyors ensure fast and safe air freight handling, while the location and focus on sustainability in our processes contribute to a future-oriented supply chain."
The property was realised by VDG Real Estate. "We are proud to have been able to support DSV in this expansion of their air cargo facility," says Madeleine van den Eijnde-Van Dijk, managing director of VDG. "The building is not only functional and built to the latest standards, but also designed to grow with DSV's ambitions."
