Property developer Prologis is developing a 40,000-square-metre distribution centre for logistics service provider XPO Logistics. Construction will start in June. The building will be commissioned in mid-2018.
On the Acht industrial estate, Prologis already delivered a 30,000-square-metre distribution centre for XPO Logistics in 2016. The second phase will add another 40,000 square metres. The new premises should support XPO Logistics in further growth. "This expansion more than doubles XPO Logistics' capacity at the GDC-Noord industrial estate in Acht," said Bram Verhoeven, country manager Prologis Benelux.
In a press release, Prologis reports that the new distribution centre can be used by XPO Logistics for local, regional and international customers from a variety of sectors due to its convenient location close to the A2 motorway, Eindhoven Airport and the Belgian border. Despite the rising demand for distribution centres in Brabant, there is enough space on the site to expand further in the future. "Future growth can also be accommodated well at this sought-after location. We even offer the possibility to expand by another 90,00 square metres," said Bram Verhoeven, country manager Prologis Benelux.
