Real estate company Prologis is developing a new logistics park in the municipality of Waalwijk. It involves 150,000 square metres to be developed in different phases.
The logistics park will be located at Haven 8. Prologis already owns a 60,000-square-metre distribution facility. To that will be added a logistics space of 150,000 square metres. Prologis says it wants to meet the high demand for this location with the expansion. Both national and international customers are said to be interested in Waalwijk. Due to its proximity to the A-59 motorway, barge terminals and port cities such as Antwerp and Rotterdam, Waalwijk is one of the fastest growing logistics markets in the Netherlands.
"As an industrial property developer, we focus on long-term relationships. We are therefore proud to now be able to offer our customers even more flexibility to expand their logistics capacity in the Waalwijk region," said Bram Verhoeven, country manager Prologis Benelux in a press release.
Waalwijk city councillor Ronald Bakker says: "We are a logistics hotspot and our focus is also on the long term. We would like to attract business partners with a similar scope. Prologis is such a partner and we are therefore very happy to sign this agreement to jointly develop this area for mutual benefit."
