A 22,000-square-metre distribution centre is rising on one of the last large plots of land in the Medel business park in Tiel. The property, a development by investor Over Engh Vastgoed BV, has not yet been let.
The new building will be built on a plot of 35,595 square metres. The building, which will be available for lease from July 2018, will feature 774 square metres of office space and 2,730 square metres of mezzanine space. The distribution centre is fully sprinklered and features a loading pit with 21 docks, and the sustainability ambition is BREEAM Good.
Steel building system
Building consortium Hercuton / Remco Ruimtebouw will construct the new building. The structure, walls and roof will be made entirely of steel. The building will have a concrete plinth all around, with many elements being prefabricated in the factory. These prefabricated parts - such as the steel structure and wall and roof elements - are then delivered to the building site and assembled into a single unit by in-house construction teams. The building is delivered fully turnkey.
Potential tenants
Jones Lang LaSalle B.V. and Savills plc are involved in the project on behalf of the investor and are in talks with several potential tenants, the parties said in a press release.
