New York Pizza will open a new distribution centre in the Netherlands in April. The logistics centre is to support the pizza chain in opening around 100 branches in the coming years.
Top executive Philippe Vorst said this at the opening of New York Pizza's two hundredth branch. This year, New York Pizza is opening thirty new branches. The chain will continue to grow at the same pace in the coming years. "We expect to have 250 branches by 2020 and to reach three hundred branches by 2022. To achieve this, we will open a new distribution centre in April this year that will allow us to supply all these branches," Vorst said.
New York Pizza's consumer sales are expected to grow by over 15 per cent in 2019 compared to 2018 to 110 million euros.
New York Pizza says it also wants to reduce its ecological footprint. "For example, we want to replace all plastic packaging to consumers with 100 per cent sustainable packaging. And by 2020, we will only purchase eco-friendly e-bikes and e-bikes for our delivery services."
