Prologis is building a 26,000-square-metre distribution centre in Waalwijk. The property consists of two units, 14,000 metres of which will be leased to Tarkett, an international provider of flooring solutions. The remaining metres will be built speculatively.
The first pile of the logistics site went into the ground on Thursday. The property will be located at Prologis Park Waalwijk, where the logistics property provider now has 100,000 square metres.
The building will receive sustainability certification BREEAM-NL Very good. Tarkett, a new customer of Prologis, leases 14,000 square metres there. The flooring solutions provider was looking for a logistics hotspot to continue its growth.
The property is scheduled for completion in mid-2020. There are opportunities for further growth at Prologis Park Waalwijk; in total, Prologis can develop up to 210,000 square metres there. "This development is part of a master plan we developed specifically for the area," said Gina Helmold, VP Head of Developments Prologis Benelux.
