Track & Trace is one of the biggest innovations in the logistics industry. From the moment the service was launched, it was possible to track shipments during their journey. By scanning the label, it is possible to see where the parcel or shipment is currently located. This information is interesting not only for the carrier, but also for the person expecting the shipment; you can see exactly when you will receive your order. Nowadays, however, it is not just about the location of shipments: conditions during the journey are also tracked. This makes the chain, from sender to recipient, even more transparent for all parties involved.
When you think of orders, you quickly think of parcels or letters. However, there are many other types of shipments, where the travel conditions are crucial to deliver the order with the right quality. Consider food, for example: the right temperature, humidity and minimum shock impact during transport is an essential part of the shipment. To ensure and control quality during the journey, a data logger has been used for years. This is an electronic data meter (sometimes reusable) that keeps track of, among other things, the temperature during transport and stores all this data. At the destination, the data can then be read to check whether everything went well and, if not, where and at what point in the chain the problem occurred.
