The impact of 3D printing on logistics - mosquito or elephant?
Drs. Alexander Hermanns, INDICIA
UPS is setting up its own print centre with a hundred 3D printers. DHL is still waiting because up to 4% of its goods flow from China could be printed, in poorer quality. TNT is also going ahead with printers. People around the world are collaborating digitally to make a prosthesis that rolls out of the printer on the spot in Africa. For the first time, Dutch consumers spent more online than in brick-and-mortar shops. In China, 10 houses were 3D printed in one day.
You wonder about the state of affairs regarding 3D printing, what the impact on the logistics chain really is and will be, and how 3D printing relates to big data and robotisation, for example. And you want to be inspired? Then this lecture is for you!
About Alexander Hermanns
Alexander Hermanns works at INDICIA, as Director for Technology and Innovation. Among other things, INDICIA develops 3D modelling and printing software as well as controls for 3D printers.
Alexander Hermanns looks at technological trends and opportunities as a business expert with a technical and psychological background, helping companies and teams make them applicable and ensuring successful implementation.
He is a regular speaker on 3D printing, big data, internet of things, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and robotics, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Inspiring with a realistic approach, he combines trends with practical hands-on experience.

'Leadership in the suply chain, crucial for successful supply chain management'
Michel van Buren MBA - BLMC
Without being hierarchically responsible for this, the supply chain leader has to get those involved in the chain to work together optimally. How do you do that?
About Michel van Buren
Since studying Social Work, Michel van Buren (1961) has been fascinated by the topic of behaviour, and specifically how people's behaviour can be influenced. Even before the age of 30, he ended up in logistics, where he held various managerial positions. At this stage, he took an MBA course to study the behaviour of organisations, in addition to the behaviour of people. His surprise at the lack of attention in this sector to behavioural change was the basis for founding BLMC in 2000. In 15 years, this agency has grown into the authority within logistics and supply chain management on behaviour, change management and leadership. Van Buren is the spiritual father of the science-based SscolP model, which is applied in all improvement projects BLMC supervises. Through the BCademy, Van Buren gives monthly change management training courses to over fifty logistics professionals based on this model. He also regularly gives lectures and workshops, publishes in leading trade media and is a jury member of the election Supply Chain Professional of the Year.

Help! My stock needs to be reduced by 10%!
Jan Kraaijeveld, Slimstock
One of the most common KPIs that is actively managed is the stock value, which often seems too high and needs to be reduced, while at the same time demanding increased service towards the customer.
Overall reductions often turn out to be too rigorous: they do not take into account the existence of internal fluctuations in demand patterns between departments and fluctuations in the chain.
So go looking for a mechanic that ensures inventory 'moves with' market demand and is attuned to delivery times and variations in demand patterns.
During an interactive workshop session, we will elaborate on the possibilities in fulfilling needs: increasing available working capital as well as improved product availability - and therefore increased customer service.
About Jan Kraaijeveld
Jan Kraaijeveld is an expert in the field of Stock Optimisation. After a career at DKSH, Schuitema and TDG, Jan joined Slimstock in 2010. Besides his work as Sales & Development manager, he has been teaching the Slimstock Stock Optimisation course for some time now. Jan's great passion is to help companies improve their forecasting and inventory management performance. With his knowledge and vast experience, Jan is excellent at constantly linking theory and practice. Jan is an enthusiastic speaker because he illuminates the often difficult optimisation processes in a light-hearted way.

Innovation: think big, start small
Robert van der Waal - Director Logistics Operations, Samsung Electronics Europe
Innovation is often seen as 'scary', money-consuming and nowadays mainly focused on completely new technological developments. Robert van der Waal, director of Logistics Operations at Samsung, thinks differently. In an interactive session, he shows how companies can very easily start innovating, especially in logistics. He gives a glimpse behind the scenes at Samsung, but also answers questions such as: what percentage of the top 25 innovative companies owes this ranking to completely new technology? And what exactly makes the remaining companies innovative?

Debate: Insourcing versus Outsourcing
By: Marcel te LindertSpeakers: Robert van der Waal, Hans Groen
Outsourcing transport and warehousing has now become commonplace in logistics. Nevertheless, some companies are opting for the opposite path and deciding to do logistics themselves again. So time for a good debate during Logistica on insourcing or outsourcing of logistics.
Participants in this debate are Hans Groen, supply chain & performance management consultant, and Robert van der Waal, director logistics operations at Samsung Electronics. Groen is one of LogistiekProfs' knowledge pros and recently wrote a well-read blog on outsourcing as supply chain strategy. Van der Waal made a name for himself with his contrarian solution to opt for insourcing in logistics.
Both participants will give their views on insourcing versus outsourcing and discuss this with each other and with the audience.
