CB has started building its new warehouse in Culemborg. With a so-called bin warehouse, the logistics service provider wants to be more in tune with market developments.
The fully mechanised warehouse in Culemborg will be 30 metres high, 30 metres wide and 100 metres long. The building will operate with a shuttle system consisting of 150 thousand totes and a handling capacity of two thousand totes per hour. The capacity can be expanded by another 150 thousand totes.
For CB, the warehouse is important because of the growth CB is currently experiencing, says CEO Hans Willem Cortenraad. "It fits perfectly with the developments in the market: keeping smaller stocks, making smaller orders, the growth of e-commerce and the increase in the number of different items in stock at CB."
The building on Erasmusweg in Culemborg is expected to be operational in spring 2021.
