Pizza chain Domino's is moving into a new distribution centre in Nieuwegein on Monday. The new logistics location is three times the size of the former DC in Gorinchem.
At Het Klooster business park in Nieuwegein, Domino's is renting around 20,000 square metres of logistics space, a head office and its own dough production. From the distribution centre, the pizza chain distributes vegetables, tomato sauce and other ingredients to its 400 branches in the Benelux.
In Gorinchem, Domino's was already at maximum capacity for a while. "To facilitate the further growth of Domino's in the Benelux, we were looking for a spacious location where both headquarters and distribution could be housed under one roof," says Misja Vroom, CEO of Domino's Benelux. "In addition, we were looking for a central location and being close to a major city is an advantage."
