Residents of a Tilburg residential area have started a petition against the arrival of a business park with logistics centres. The residents are protesting against 'the doom' of the region's landscape.

An industrial estate is being developed between Tilburg's Reeshof neighbourhood and the A58 motorway. "This condemnation gives irreparable damage to the Brabant landscape," can be read on petition.nl. The initiators, residents of the district, are against the arrival of distribution centres and industry next to a large residential area. The petition of objection has now been signed more than 1,300 times.

The signatories request the municipality of Tilburg to develop a new plan for a future-proof outlying area with more respect for residents, nature and agriculture. "We request the municipality of Tilburg to put ecological interests and interests of residents above economic interests and profit-seeking of developers."
