Supermarket chain Jumbo has opened a new hub for online groceries in Bemmel. With the extra capacity, Jumbo hopes to serve more customers in the east of the country.
For a long time, Jumbo delivered online groceries only from its physical shops. In 2018, it added delivery from hubs. The new hub in Bemmel is Jumbo's eighth central e-fulfilment centre. From Bemmel, the supermarket chain serves customers in the region around Arnhem, Nijmegen and Ede, part of the Betuwe and the province of Utrecht and a northern part of Limburg.
Jumbo has capacity expansion high on its agenda as demand for online groceries continues to grow. Eight more new hubs will be added throughout the Netherlands this year.
