Logistics companies are queuing up for a plot at Schiphol Logistics Park. Of the total area of over 50 hectares, only 10 hectares are still available.
Even the plots that are still available would already be in talks with buyers. In 2017, 11 hectares were sold. One such buyer is real estate investor WDP, which recently bought 4 hectares of land for a new 20,000-square-metre distribution centre to be built. This property will be next to existing buildings leased to Rapid Logistics and Kuehne + Nagel.
The business park is particularly popular with logistics service providers due to its strategic location in relation to Schiphol Airport and the A5 and A9 motorways. Nevertheless, several data centres are also being built. A new transformer station will be placed in the area for this purpose. The inhabitants of the village of Rijsenhout, where the station will be located, are resisting this for the time being.
