An 88,000-square-metre plot for an XL logistics centre will be built at Schiphol Trade Park in Hoofddorp. To this end, Somerset Capital Partners and AM Real Estate Development (RED) have signed an agreement. The parties are targeting logistics end-users for the construction.

The parties will apply for an environmental permit in the first quarter of 2017 so that they can start the large-scale logistics project. The plot is located in the Logistics Zone of Schiphol Trade Park and can be divided into units. In total, area is available for a 60,000-square-metre logistics centre.

This year, Somerset Capital Partners and RED aim to start construction of the logistics centre. Completion is scheduled for mid-2018. The building should meet the latest requirements of modern logistics. For instance, the companies are aiming for a Breeam Excellent rating, a floor load of 4,000 to 5,000 kilograms per square metre and a possible free height of 30 metres. In addition, the centre must have ample loading docks.
