TomTom Telematics now operates under a new name: Webfleet Solutions. The company was acquired by Bridgestone Europe in April and was therefore no longer part of the TomTom group.
Webfleet Solutions provides telematics solutions with a focus on fleet management, vehicle telematics and connected car services. Following its acquisition by Bridgestone, it will continue to offer the same products and services, including WEBFLEET, NEXTFLEET, LINK equipment and the various PRO Driver Terminals. Moreover, the company will remain a key partner of TomTom, it wrote in a press release.
Deployment of cloud and internet technology
"We launched our WEBFLEET management solution 20 years ago from our office in Leipzig, Germany," says Thomas Schmidt, CEO and Managing Director of Webfleet Solutions. "We were pioneers in deploying cloud and internet technology to help companies with fleets of cars, vans and trucks improve productivity, safety, sustainability and efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction."
Uitbreiding dienstenpakket
The company says it wants to go beyond 'just' providing a telematics solution. "Bridgestone provides us with the perfect platform to make that happen, supporting us in expanding our service offering to more customers around the world. With us on board, Bridgestone EMEA now manages 1.2 million mobility and fleet management subscriptions."
