From next year, Dachser will only purchase energy from renewable sources. Furthermore, the logistics service provider will generate more energy itself, including by covering the logistics site in Waddinxveen with solar panels.
Dachser had already switched to green electricity in the Netherlands and Germany. Also in the other countries where the company operates - there are more than 40 of them - Dachser intends to buy only electricity generated from wind, solar and hydropower.
Its own production of renewable energy will be quadrupled. Dachser is installing more solar panels on the roofs of European logistics sites and office buildings. It is currently investigating which locations in Europe lend themselves to generating solar energy. By 2022, the logistics provider plans to build seven new installations, including at the Dachser site in Waddinxveen. By 2025, all panels together should have a capacity of more than 20,000 kWp.
