Jungheinrich has presented a new mobile robot. Thanks to the optimal interplay of autonomous mobile robot, control system and toolchain, it is easy to integrate into any warehouse.
Jungheinrich's latest mobile robot solution is a latest-generation autonomous mobile robot (AMR), including a newly developed control system and toolchain. The precisely coordinated interaction between the three components makes it particularly easy to integrate the solution into any existing warehouse and guarantees great flexibility, from the planning phase to daily operation.
Latest generation AMR
The EAE 212a is designed for the automation of low-lifting transport. Thanks to Jungheinrich's patented chassis design, at just 790 mm it is narrower than a euro pallet. This makes it particularly manoeuvrable and enables speeds of up to 6 km/h. At the same time, the truck can carry loads of up to 1.2 tonnes. "As a low-lift truck, the EAE 212a is perfectly suited for the supply and removal of conveyors," says Erlach. No artificial landmarks are required to navigate the EAE 212a. Time-consuming preparatory measures in the warehouse are thus a thing of the past.
Easy integration into existing warehouses
When developing the new mobile robot solution, Jungheinrich placed special emphasis on the ideal interplay of hardware and software and its coupling and integration into the overall system. Jungheinrich focused on an end-to-end toolchain with the specially developed Jungheinrich Mobile Robot Control (MRC). The Jungheinrich MRC includes central order management, truck control, modelling tool and real-time visualisation.
Scalability for the future
The new toolchain, an integral part of the mobile robot solution, makes it possible to quickly and easily adjust traffic and movement areas when the needs and requirements in a warehouse change. In this way, additional AMRs can easily be added to a warehouse and projects can be expanded at short notice.Jungheinrich's new mobile robot solution is thus designed for maximum scalability.
The EAE 212a can be used as a stand-alone solution or connected to the existing IT system in the warehouse. Thanks to the compatibility of the VDA-5050-based control system and a future-proof software platform, the mobile robot solution is tailored to all future challenges in the warehouse.
Flexibility in use
Thanks to its high degree of autonomy, the EAE 212a finds its own solutions: it can flexibly avoid obstacles and continue its work without human intervention. Thanks to its target recognition, the EAE 212a can also detect pallets that are not exactly in the desired position. This makes integration into manual processes possible, even in a cluttered warehouse.
Human-machine interaction
When developing the EAE 212a, Jungheinrich also focused on simple and intuitive communication between man and machine. With direct and unambiguous information on the operating station, LED strips for clear visibility from a distance or the close-up display, the EAE 212a's human colleagues have all important information in view when needed. As a result, the mobile robot solution is widely accepted by employees.
