New software from Picnic gives delivery drivers feedback on their driving behaviour after journeys. The supermarket is also launching a three-year programme to further improve safety.

This is according to Picnic in response to statements made by FNV. The union claims that safety for Picnic employees leaves much to be desired. According to Picnic, however, safety is its top priority.

The software will be introduced for all delivery drivers in September. At that time, Picnic will also organise a safety week. This week serves as a kick-off for a three-year programme to promote road safety. To this end, it will collaborate with Veilig Verkeer Nederland (VVN), among others. Speaking to Distrifood, Picnic says that VVN is interested in making the technology available to other partners as well.
