Fashion retailer G-Star will have online purchases in Amsterdam delivered by bicycle starting tomorrow. The company promises that orders placed before five o'clock will be delivered the same evening. For the new delivery service, G-Star collaborates with bicycle courier company De Versnelling and software provider Paazl.
G-Star hopes that same-day-delivery by bicycle will result in an increase in online sales around the holidays. "In view of the strong growth of e-commerce, parcel delivery becomes more important and the need for an efficient and sustainable way of delivery increases," the fashion brand said. G-Star sees it as a big advantage that the bicycle produces no emissions, makes no noise and avoids clogging up the city centre.
