After it was announced this weekwas announced that Uber is getting involved in e-commerce logistics, now internet giant Google is also expanding its delivery service.

Later this year, Google will start a trial in two US states, experimenting with delivering fresh groceries. Google Express has been delivering products to homes for some time, but is now venturing into fresh produce for the first time.

Consumer is king
The concept works just like other suppliers Google is now working with: orders are picked up at wholesalers, then delivered the same day. Google is collaborating with several supermarkets in this regard. "Until recently, we could not deliver all the products of a shop. Now consumers can order the entire range from a supermarket and have it delivered by us. Google aims to be able to provide consumers with everything they want to buy," said Brian Elliott, manager of Google Express.

Cities
San Francisco has been chosen as one of the cities where the trial will be held, the second is still unclear. Google Express already operates in Boston, New York and Washington in addition to San Francisco.
