Docdata is being sold to US-based Ingram Micro. The e-fulfillment company hopes the sale will allow it to invest in people and in equipment to eventually serve more large customers. The sale is not yet complete, as shareholders have yet to approve the plan.
E-commerce professionalisation
According to Docdata, the e-commerce market is changing significantly. Earlier, the market consisted mainly of small pioneers, but today almost all large companies can also be found online. The market is professionalising and scale is expected from e-commerce service providers. "With the sale to Ingram Micro, we create the opportunity to become part of a strong strategic partner with a global service and market approach," the company said.
Scale
Docdata expects to find it easier to partner with professionals in other countries this way. "We will be able to invest in our people and in equipment in order to participate in large tenders, no longer limited to implementing only one or two large customers per year. Our current and future clients will have more security and access to a global network of people and resources."
